When I was walking to Debre Damo Monastary (stay tuned for more on that) we passed these people winnowing their harvest. I needed to get severely involved with it.

Brian this is so so magical! I can’t understand what they’re doing though.
Just gettin’ all that pesky chaff out of their wheat by picking it up on a windy day. Heavy wheat falls to the ground, light chaff flies into a giant pile off to the side.
so awesome to see! i’ve heard of it and understood how it worked but that close up pic was perfect cuz you can totally see the wheat peices!!!
