winnowing

When I was walking to Debre Damo Monastary (stay tuned for more on that) we passed these people winnowing their harvest. I needed to get severely involved with it.

Just gettin’ all that pesky chaff out of their wheat by picking it up on a windy day. Heavy wheat falls to the ground, light chaff flies into a giant pile off to the side.

Holy shiz. (WordPress autocorrect kept trying to make me say “whiz”.) That hands pic is the magicalest.
